Kaposvár in figures
Kaposvár is a dynamically developing center, the seat of Somogy County, the center of the subregion, a city with county rights, a university town and episcopal seat, and due to its location it can be considered the southern gateway to Hungary. It is one of the most important cities in the Transdanubian region which is now an economic, cultural and sport centre. The number of registered companies in the city is more than ten thousand.

Kaposvár, 200 kilometers away from the capital, is easily accessible by train, bus and public transport. The four-lane speedway R67, which is to be delivered in the fall of 2019, connects the city with the M7 motorway by the shore of Lake Balaton.

There are 24 kindergartens in the city. Following the changing profile of primary education institutions, children can continue their studies not only in high level grammar schools, but in excellent vocational secondary schools as well. In the secondary schools and vocational secondary schools there are young professionals who study professions in high demand (mechanical technologist, technical IT specialist, construction and wood technician). In the frameworks of vocational training students can choose from several different language courses in English and German (A1-A2, B1-B2).

Specific secondary vocational school
At the University of Kaposvár there are currently four faculties. Besides the Faculties of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Economics, Pedagogy and the Rippl-Rónai Arts Faculty it is completed with special and unique institutions such as the Health Center, the Pannon Equestrian Academy, the Wildlife Management Center of Bőszénfa and the Fodder Research Institute. The campus is committed to provide well-trained practitioners who are in possession of up-to-date professional know-how and skills.
The University is cooperating with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology on the expansion of the training structure through the launch of IT and technical training.

The University of Kaposvár in cooperation with the University of Óbuda are launching a high-level technical training in 2020 in Kaposvár. First the mechanic and then the mechatronic training start. From 2021, cyber security assistant training also starts at the University.
In 2019, an Innovation and Training Workshop will be established where students will receive robotics and technical training. Within the framework of the Innovation Workshop, focus training, adult training and retraining are also being implemented.
Kaposvár focuses on creating an environment that is attractive to investors in some key sectors, such as: food industry, engineering, services or tourism.
